why won't the mic test hear my mic attached through my zoom H6

Question

I have restarted my computer and completed all preliminary tests and tutorials.

The Zoom H6 and mic work fine with Zoom meeting – it recognizes and plays it, and can record it etc

Screenflow (my video editing software) also recognizes and records it.

However, i need to use it for a web based podcast company called Riverside FM, and their software won't record it - it recognizes the mic but does not receive the audio signal.

They asked me to use your mic test and similarly the H6 is recognized, however, no signal is received. 

all my other mics work for your test and their software, so i am confused as to what is happening as my mic/H6 work on some things but not others.

so i ended up calling Zoom H6 for support - in order for chrome / online software to pick up the signal, the H6 has to be in stereo mode!  

hope this helps someone else from spending days trying to figure it out :)
