microphone will not work the microphone test says audio track not available due to technical issue

The webcam works but no the microphone does not.  The microphone test states that audio track not available due to technical issue

I have exactly the same question.  So what is the technical issue?  Microphone or the web site?  Alas, no answers forthcoming since the original question on May 6.  Now August 14, 2020.
